Sacred and Secret Vajra Yogini Puja | 殊胜、奥秘的金刚瑜伽母法会
Today in Kechara Forest Retreat (Bentong, Malaysia), we have a very holy and powerful puja going on. It is being conducted by five sangha members who are trained in this puja. A puja is a set of rituals based on visualisations, recitation, concentration and offerings which are made in order to divert or change a certain karmic outcome. So if there is going to be some kind of negative karmic outcome and we can sense it, we can feel it or we can see it coming, we can do pujas to purify somehow, somewhat the karma to change the results coming.

Pujas can also be done for overall welfare, for our relatives, our friends, our loved ones, for the land, for animals, for the environment, for haunted places, for difficult situations – for anything, and there are many pujas for many situations.
Today’s puja in Kechara Forest Retreat is based on the Highest Yoga Tantra of Vajra Yogini. The puja is a self-initiation and ruchok. Self-initiation can be done after the conductor of the puja has received initiation of Vajra Yogini, done the proper rituals, kept up their samaya with their teacher, and done the proper retreats. A retreat of Vajra Yogini is a minimum of 100,000 mantras and includes a fire puja, and after the retreat, they are permitted to do self-initiations.

The self-initiations are very powerful because they invoke upon the Lady Buddha Vajra Yogini to purify karma, to accept us for entrance into Kechara Paradise, to create the karmic circumstances that a person will gain higher realisations and, eventually, Mahamudra which extinguishes all suffering. Therefore this ritual is very important because it allows the participants, including non-initiates, to be able to hear her mantra, hear her prayers, see her offerings being made, and generally to make a strong connection to Vajra Yogini. This is a rare puja for the non-initiate.
During this puja, we can make strong prayers for two things:
- to eliminate obstacles in our spiritual practice and in our secular lives;
- to create a very strong affinity to do her practice and to enter into her Kechara Paradise.
That is the first part. The second part of the puja is ruchok. Ruchok is when you have a deceased being’s hair, nails, ashes or bones. That deceased being can be a human, or it can even be an animal like a beloved dog, cat, horse or pet. You collect their ashes, bones, hair or nails along with any other items from the deceased being whom you love, and during ruchok these items are blessed by Vajra Yogini’s ritual to become purified and cleansed whereby they can be placed inside a statue or stupa. Not for us to worship the bone or remains, but for them to become part of the statue and stupa, or part of the foundation of the statue or stupa so that when people make offerings to the statue or stupa, then the bones are blessed. Also to collect further karma for the deceased loved one. The remains of the person or the animal are blessed so that they will collect merit even in their death, in order to take a good rebirth to practise the Dharma. This will create more powerful propensity for the living and deceased to connect with Buddha Vajra Yogini.

Everyone at the end of the puja was extremely fortunate to receive Vajra Yogini’s blessings in the form of nectar. It’s very important and highly blessed to take some of the nectar that has been offered, as this nectar is considered to be the essence of Vajra Yogini’s body, speech and mind. It increase and extends life and helps to heal the body.
So today (December 22, 2018), people from all over North and South Malaysia came. They drove down to join in our Kechara Forest Retreat’s Vajra Yogini ruchok and self-initiation puja. It went very well, it started around 10am and completed around 4:30pm. All those who are participating, I am very pleased because they will be able to hear and to be involved, and also to get blessings of the Lady Vajra Yogini.

今日，一场殊胜的法会在克切拉禅修林（马来西亚文冬）举办。这场法会由五位具格（熟悉今日法会）的僧人主持。法会由观想、持诵仪轨文、禅定及做供养的一套仪式组成，而做这一切的目的，是为转移或是改变某些业果的显现。比如：若我们能觉察到，或是感应到、看到某种恶业即将成熟，我们能修法会，以某种方式改变业果的显现。
我们可以为总体的安好——为我们的亲人、朋友、挚爱，甚至是为了某片土地、动物、环境、闹鬼的地方，或是在面对艰巨的情况下或为任何事物——修法会。法会的种类繁多，能对治许多不一样的情况。

今天在克切拉禅修林举办的是无上瑜伽部本尊金刚瑜伽母的法会——金刚瑜伽母自授灌顶及“鲁措”法会。主持自授灌顶法会的人必先受过金刚瑜伽母的灌顶，修过正式的仪式，并且跟上师保持清净的三昧耶，以及完成严格意义上的闭关。这里所说的金刚瑜伽母闭关指的是持诵至少十万遍的心咒及进行一场火供法会。在完成闭关后，他们就能进行自授灌顶的仪式。
自授灌顶的仪式是极为殊胜的，因为我们能透过这个仪式召唤金刚瑜伽母替我们净化恶业、使我们往生其净土“克切拉”、为我们造下拥有更高了悟的因缘，最终成就止息一切痛苦的大手印。这也就是为什么这个仪式拥有如此重大的意义，因为参与法会者，包括没有受过灌顶的人，得以听闻金刚瑜伽母的心咒，听闻其祈祷文，目睹给这位佛母献上供品的仪式，总体而言就是得以跟金刚瑜伽母结下牢固之缘。对未受过灌顶的人而言，这是一场罕见的法会。
在法会进行期间，我们可以做以下祈祷：
- 消除修行及世俗生活上的违缘
- 与这位佛母结缘，以期得以修其法门，往生“克切拉”净土。
这是这场法会的第一部分简介。法会的第二部分是“鲁措”仪式。如果你有往生者或甚至是动物（如狗、猫、马匹或其他宠物）的毛发、指甲、骨灰或骨头，你将他（它）们的骨灰、骨头、毛发或指甲，还有往生者生前的其他任何物品收集起来。随后在“鲁措”的环节上，金刚瑜伽母的仪式将加持和净化这些东西，好让这些东西能被置入佛像或佛塔中。将骨头或遗骨放入佛像或佛塔中的用意不是供人朝拜，而是让这些东西作为佛像或佛塔的一部分，或是作为佛像或佛塔底部的一部分。随着人们向这尊佛像或佛塔做供养的时候，这些遗骨也能受到加持，同时也是在为我们已往生的挚爱累积更多的业。如此一来，不管是人或是动物的遗骨，都会接受巨大的加持。他（它）们即便是已经往生，却也还能累积功德投生善趣，实修佛法。另外，也能为生者及逝者种下亲近金刚瑜伽母的强烈倾向。

今日（2018年12月22日），来自马来西亚南部及北部的人们远道而来，参与这场在克切拉禅修林举办的金刚瑜伽母“鲁措”及自授灌顶法会。法会从早上10时开始，然后于下午4时30分左右结束，一切都进行得十分顺利。我为每一位参加法会的人感到十分高兴，因为他们是这场殊胜法会的一份子，也获得来自金刚瑜伽母的加持。

I was able to offer a Vajra Yogini statue to each of the monks engaging in the puja and it just so happens that I have five of the exact same statues! It is believed that when you engage in a puja or retreat of a deity, if during the puja or retreat you receive an unplanned image of the deity, it is considered to be very auspicious and that you have great affinity with the deity to accomplish their practice. Wow……so holy and powerful sacred and secret Vajra Yogini Puja, been held at kechara Forest retreat. Been conducted by five trained sangha members all the way from Nepal. We are indeed fortunate to participate such a rare puja , all thanks to Rinpoche’s compassion benefiting all of us. This self-initiations are very powerful as explained by Rinpoche as they invoke upon the Lady Buddha Vajra Yogini to eliminate obstacles and to create a very strong affinity to do her practice and to enter into her Kechara Paradise. Wow …such a beneficial puja for us . Many of us , old and young from different backgrounds came for this rare puja. For me my first time participate this puja and feeling glad been able to see it even though waiting for hours for our turn to gain the blessings of Vajra Yogini.

This was indeed a memorable and meritorious day as many of us got the chance to be a part of this precious and rare Vajrayogini Puja. For non-initiates, this was such a privilege to be able to make a connection to this Tantric Buddha and to make strong aspirational prayers during this puja.
