The Fear of Losing Our Title of Being a Winner
If we are big achievers in early life, we are afraid to lose our big achiever status and many fail later in life. For example if we did well in high school in sports, or competition or whatever and we get praises. We get praises from family or friends and we like the praises. We can get these praises from anywhere. We feed off the praises kind of. If we weren’t big achievers in early life or were not lavished with praises, but we never give up and keep going and keep trying, we have a bigger chance to make it in life later as adults. The fear of losing our ‘title’ of being a ‘winner’ was instilled in our younger days. So some are afraid to do more to fail and not get praises so they end up doing nothing and living in the past. So it is better to be someone who works hard and is consistent then someone afraid of failing and want to hold onto the winner’s status. Better to be proud of the effort and not always the results.

To become successful, we need to have goal setting, focus, dream and to work smart with the right attitude to reach happiness and goals. It’s true that once we start receiving praises, the thirst of earning that more will be there. which means people around us acknowledge the effort we put into achieving our dream. In my understanding, a Winner is someone who can continuously improve compared to his or her previous achievements as well as surpassing others too. Aim higher. Thank you Rinpoche and blog team for this inspiring sharing. 👍😎🙏

It it up to us to find our own strengths and use them to the best of our ability. This sounds extremely cliche, but it’s true, the road is long and it will get tough. You will fail, and probably fail hard. But my mother always told me that “failure is the mother of success,” so please, pick yourself up after every mistake, and keep on believing in yourself.

In summary, it’s important to have destination in life and by now, we should have purpose in life. Along the way, maybe we will achieve something beyond our imagination. Without a destination, we may even backtrack in life.
I haven’t achieved something big in my life (just yet ?) but I’m thankful that Rinpoche has given me a clear direction on our goal; Enlightenment and the wish to help others. In the meantime, we should transform our wishes into actions. “A little deed done very well is better than a mighty plan kept on paper, undone. “
Since young we strived for success , moving on, climbing the ladder of life to become big achiever status. Many of us are afraid to lose and tumbling down from the ladder of success. We should cultivating a meaningful life after having success but to think of the effort and not always the results.
