Fatmonk, Wan & Lil’ Damey
This is a doll that makes all types of cute baby sounds I picked out for Damey. Wan says she loves this doll. Nice…and I am glad…I love kids to be happy.
I love buying toys for kids. Kids must be treated well and loved…if not, why have kids at all. If they are treated well, when they grow up, they will be better individuals..that is so important.
Damey is the two year daughter of Fatmonk and Wan. She has flown to KL with her grandmother from Thailand to visit. Obviously Fatmonk and Wan are very happy. I decided to send some nice gifts to little Damey along with some welcome flowers for Wan’s mother and Fatmonk’s mom. I went out to Toys R Us yesterday to buy toys for Damey. Also Suming under my request had Ethan and Bryan by some items/ food stuffs/ toys also to welcome them. Thank you so much Ethan and Bryan for being so helpful to our Kechara family of which you belong to also.

Fatmonk bringing in the car seat for Damey from me. Damey can ride around in a car safely…

Here’s is Damey with an alien toy and a new bicycle. She loved the bicycle and I was told she grabbed it immediately. Cute.

Wan’s mom from Thailand on the left and Fatmonk’s mom in the red on the right. Offered them flowers to welcome them to KL. Damey usually stays with Wan’s mother in Thailand as Wan wants Damey to not forget her Thai culture and language.

Damey riding her bike…

Little Princess Damey loves her new bicycle…she’s a tough little girl and very big/tall for two years old

A nice family picture with Damey, Wan, Fatmonk, and the two grandmas with all the gifts layed out for them. I requested Suming to get alot of vegetables for the grannies to cook up and Bryan/Ethan got alot of Thai cooking items too. We want to make sure their visits are happy and comfortable. Kecharians must care for eachother as a start to developing the mind to care for everyone.

Damey herself looks like a doll. A doll playing with a doll
Another doll for Damey. She got two nice dolls…hehehe
Bryan and Wan playing with Damey girl. Nice and cute
Damey is feeding her baby with the grandmother’s looking on in the background
Fatmonk with his daughter. He sure does look like a real proud and loving daddy. Fatmonk says to me that another reason for making himself a better person is for his daughter. That is beautiful.
Wan hugging her other child, beloved Gonpo. This dog is really attached to Wan. This is Wan’s son..hehehehe
Wan, Gonpo and Fatmonk…where’s Damey????
Albert who is a good friend of Wan’s and Martin joined in today to help deliver the gifts to the family. Thank you very much gentlemen for your help…We at Kechara welcome little Damey, Wan’s mother and Fatmonk’s mother. We want them to be happy here with their visits.
Mission accomplished..gifts delivered….Martin, Ethan, James, Albert and Fatmonk…and thanks SuMing from Kechara Care dept for organizing everything.
I am truly happy Damey is here to visit with her parents. Her parents love her very much and she is well taken care of by her grandmother and relatives back in Thailand. This exotic little girl who is half Thai and half Malaysian has the best of both worlds. We ask the Buddha to bless, protect and keep Damey safe. May her grandmamas live very long lives also.

PRINCESS DAMEY IS GORGEOUS!! She’s like one of the exotic Barbie babies! Beautiful 🙂
I’m so happy that this little family reunion is made the very best by the Kechara Care Team and of course by Tsem Rinpoche 🙂
The photos are beautiful…they all look like one happy Dharma family 🙂 It’s a little unusual seeing a very mix group of people all together, but looking at them everyone looks genuinely happy – with one side thankful to receive the gifts, and the other happy simply by making others happy 🙂
I really like what was written, “Kecharians must care for each other as a start to developing the mind to care for everyone.”
If I knew that Damey was coming, would I think about even offering to buy some vegetables for her grandmama?
Hmm. Gotta send my mind to the workshop for some tweaking..
It is very heartwarming to see this article which Rinpoche has kindly posted on his blog. Rinpoche always show us his care and love by his blessings, compassion and thoughtfulness. KC’s team always work tirelessly to put that smile on people’s faces! It not only shows one happy family but one happy Dharma environment we are in. All the gifts put together make FM’s house looks like a mini Toys r Us! Little Damey must be happy beyond words with all the lovely gifts!
Another touching message is Fatmonk sharing with us the reason for making himself a better person is for his daughter – that is very sweet! FM is a good example of a father willing to embrace change for the love of his daughter. Little Damey is indeed a lucky girl!
so cute. it is true i think ppl should really think before having kids and then do the best to make them happy, because they are the future and it affects everyone. i’ve been in homeless shelters and seen women beating their kids and stuff, so i am really happy to study dharma then.
Time really past by so fast. Cute little baby Damey is now 2 years old and she is big for her age. She is so adorable and from the pictures, there were happy faces everywhere, one big happy family! Again Rinpoche has brought sunshine to this family with his great compassion and kindness.
I am so glad to know that Fat Monk said that another reason for making himself a better person is for his daughter. I hope this time is for real, that he will improve and be a better person for the sake of his lovely, adorable daughter, Damey!
Rinpochela is so CARING! So skilfully weaving COMPASSION and KINDNESS into the family unit. Truly Dharma STARTS AT HOME; i personally do not know Fatmonk, but i am so happy for his happy DHARMIC FAMILY! May there be more and more such people!
Dear Rinpoche:
It was a beautiful morning where all the sleepy heads like myself forced to get out of bed early to gather together and “put a smile upon people’s face”. In this case, it is not just fat monk, wan, the mother & mother in law and Damey… It is actually the whole team, not KC alone, that includes everyone! This truly showed and demonstrate that by caring and loving others, you get the smile back yourself. How beautiful!
This makes dharma beautiful and it is the joy that we experienced when we work for dharma. Again, thankyou Rinpoche for bringing dharma to us… thankyou!!!
FM and wan are both very nice, sincere, compassionate people which I adore them a lot! I would tease Wan in Thai all the time.. hehe… I want her to know that even she is far away from her home. But we all are family to her too! and both of the mothers were super happy and kept talking… It is always nice to listen to elderly talk coz it shows that they are happy! Oh and Damey is gorgeous!!! she is super adorable!!!
Suai Jing jing na krub!
I saw a version of this post on the attendant’s blog, where I said “Rinpoche looks so cool dressed all in black, with black tinted sunglasses and black hat…” BUT…
I make a serious mistake, because I forgot to thank him, and the attendants, for making the offerings to these wonderful people who have been Rinpoche’s students for years.
I am glad I caught myself now… Although Rinpoche looks really cool, to me, it’s not ABOUT THAT AT ALL. It’s about his kindness and giving, which I have even seen, FIRSTHAND, ALL THE WAY IN AMERICA. His gifts of Dharma ritual items have upheld my Dharma practice DIRECTLY.
Rinpoche, you are one and the same with the Yidam, Tsongkhapa, to me.
I would never say “Oh, Tsongkhapa, you look so COOL in your robes.” I would say, “Please, Venerable Lama, accept my faults and please teach me the Dharma.” For that mistake, I apologize.
He does look cool though, dressed in black… lol… 😉
Damey Wong is very special. Wan told me when Damey was a baby she was not fussy about who takes care of her. That is why it is easier for Damey to go to Thailand and her grandmother take care of her making it easy for Wan and FM to concentrate on Dharma work. Time flies very fast. I remember vividly I met Wan on the day Rinpoche moved to BU. Fatmonk brought Wan to help out with the moving house. At that time they were not married. Wan would hang around with us in KPSS2. She would learn the trade in KPSS2 which at that time was the only outlet. Then later when Geraldine left Wan took over. She got married. Now her family has extended to cute little Damey making three in the family. It was just like yesterday when I met Wan and Fatmonk.
Damey sure is growing up! She is so pretty now and big for her age. Nice and happy pictures of Wan, FM, Damey with her grandmothers, and Gonpo.
FM and Wan are long time students of Rinpoche and both are doing full time dharma work.
Kechara Care(KC), headed by liaison Su Ming and supported by staff and volunteers like Nicholas, May Ong, Bryan, Ethan etc shows care to Kecharians. All Kecharians should support KC because KC will benefit more people. We have benefited so much from Kechara, let us give back.
Examples:
Celebrate your birthday, anniversary etc at KC
Meet to catch up with your friends at KC
Bring your family and friends to KC for movies
Just go to KC and chill out!
Kechara Care, like all depts of Kechara, would not be possible without Rinpoche’s vision and guidance.
Thank you, Rinpoche.
Dear Wan & FM,
Watching cute and pretty Damey makes me think about having another daughter! Unfortunately or fortunately, YF is definitely not willing mentally and physically.
Damey is so blessed to receive gifts from a holy being and already a part of our blessed Kechara family.
FM, May Damey be a factor in your self improvement and the cultivation of virtuous qualities.
Dear Rinpoche,
Thanks for posting these wonderful pic of cute little Damey. Me and my wife rejoice for FM and Wan to meet up with their precious. Damey is so cute and photogenic and looking at her remind me of Shirley Temple (without the curls) 🙂 We just wish that we have a cute daughter like lil’ Damey.
Though I might not know FM much, other than seeing him popping up in Rinpoche Dharma video, when he said that another reason to change is to be a better person for his daughter ~ this is a best gift that any child could have.
MK
Beautiful sharing.
Dear Rinpoche,
Thank you for creating the cause for me to be a part of a very joyous morning. I shall always treasure the tenderness in the eyes of Damey, FM, Wan and their moms. It is true, we become happy when we bring happiness to others.
I feel i know Wan and Fatmonk better now and i am very appreciative of what they “give up” to do full time work at Kechara and i thank them for their sacrifices. Each time i walk into the Ladrang and a Kechara outlet, i shall remember that many sacrifices are made daily by so many people who make Dhrama their career.
It is also very touching to see a Guru who goes out of his way to meticulously ensure that his students are looked after, cared for and so loved.
It was a brilliant morning altogether.
