In modern era where social media is a stools of getting connected , we receives latest updates and news from every corner of the world. Long lost friends too can be connected. Its highly particular and historically in some cases. The Facebook is one of the most popular social networking sites. Its popularity and active users increased and still growing rapidly. Although Facebook has benefits and disadvantages, it can be an indispensable tool for many business users.
Its wonderful Rinpoche found some old Kalmyck school friends and get connected with them after such a long time. Online platforms had helped many of us to learn and practice Rinpoche’s teachings. Its through on line I got to know Kechara and Tsemrinpoche blog. Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
With the advent of internet, things are done so much faster and easier. With Facebook, many had found lost friends, made new ones and kept in touch with the latest news and events that goes on in their lives and around the world. I am glad that Rinpoche had managed to connect with old friends which started the series of research and interviews leading to Rinpoche’s autobiography.
The greatest thing is how Rinpoche’s precious teachings can reach out to so many in the world, especially to those who had not easy access to receive teachings in a physical centre. Many had written their appreciation to Rinpoche of the help and comfort they received from Rinpoche’s teachings. How wonderful the online platforms had helped! Here is the link to Rinpoche’s facebook : http://facebook.com/tsemtulku.
The Facebook is a wonderful place and it can also be a nasty place. But, I would like to see more of the positive as I too found my old schoolmates and reconnect after almost 40 years.
With Facebook and internet, we are able to keep abreast of Rinpoche’s teachings wherever we are, not necessary to be physically present in KL. This webpage is wonderful as it also allows me time to digest more profound teachings and read them many times and also as reference material.
H.E Facebook’s fanpage is like a gateway to attract more people to Dharma, while this blog is like a “home” to host for people who are interested in learning Dharma.
Who knew this was the beginning of Rinpoche connecting with many Kalmyk friends and eventually sending a team to the United States, to do research on Rinpoche’s childhood? It was a three-week whirlwind research trip from the East Coast to the West Coast, and a lot of eye-opening moments. I’ve known Rinpoche since I was about 10 and in that time, Rinpoche has not changed at all… going to the United States, I saw that even from childhood, Rinpoche has always been the kind, compassionate person driven to benefit others and study the Dharma.
In the modern days now, having a Computor and knowing how to master it is very important and useful. It has help to trace and found his Kalmyck school friends through the face book. So that Rinpoche is also able to introduce his friends and link them up with Kechara House by arranging newsletters to be sent to them. Rinpoche will be able to also trace more relatives and friends and bring them into Dharma. With a computor on line Rinpoche’s students can also help in research looking for more of Rinpoche’s relatives and friends that can give him more info to making Rinpoche’s Bio and Movie a success.
Rinpoche is a very modern lama, using the tools that are provided by today’s technology and adjusting methods to teach the Dharma without compromising it in any way, but using the tools provided today so as to reach many and be efficient in his mission that is to create strong Dharma awarness where there was none or little before.
In today’s world, internet is the most efficient way to reach many, facebook, twitter, or a blog just as this one. This blog shows how strong Rinpoche’s dedication to spread the Dharma is, one can see that despites his many commitments, he still make the time to not only blog but also reply to the comments his posts generate and nurture the new people that are able to connect with him through this blog. What’s more, Rinpoche is also on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/tsemtulku, and he is also on twitter at http://twitter.com/tsemtulku
Thank you Rinpoche for reaching out to us.
There really is plenty of exciting news from Kechara every week. I remember when we didn’t have an e-newsletter, and our quarterly newsletter (no more caves) was just starting out. We had no idea what we were doing, if we could find enough news to populate the pages. We didn’t know how to layout the content, who would write it, who would take the pictures, if anyone would want to read it. Of course unlike us silly students, Rinpoche had none of those doubts…today, it’s not just no more caves that we have, but the Kechara New News e-bulletin. It goes out to thousands every single week – including Rinpoche’s Kalmyck friends! – and is such a pleasure to write for.
Compiling the news reminds me of the activities of the 13 departments, and in turn the amount of hard work that Rinpoche put into establishing Kechara and making her grow…and the continued hard work that Rinpoche and the staff put in to taking Kechara onwards and upwards! That newsletter is our archive for when Kechara grows so big, we’re at KWPC and can look back and reminisce on the good ol’ days 😉
