Friends from Nepal
Mr Rajkumar and his wife Sangeeta are my very good friends from Nepal. They both came to Malaysia for a visit and were special guests of Tsem Ladrang.
They visited many places of interest in Kuala Lumpur and also our 12 depts in KH.
Sangeeta went back to Nepal this morning and Rajkumar stays on to finish some work with us.
When we are in Nepal they are of the greatest help. Whoever meets them cannot help but like them alot. I am so glad they visited us and were able to show them around. They have three children in Nepal anxiously waiting for their phone calls daily while they were in Kuala Lumpur.
Sangeeta has taken back many pictures of her trip here to share with friends and family back home…fun.. We will miss her and Raj.
They are wonderful, spiritual and genuine people. We encourage our Nepal friends to visit us because there so much to see and we would love to show it to them!!

Mr Rajkumar and his wife Sangeeta travelled all the way from Nepal to visit Kechara. They came visiting as special guests of Tsem Ladrang, that’s wonderful. They were showed around the place of interest in Kuala Lumpur and so forth with great memories to bring back . They even joined in KSK department giving foods to the poor. They were very helpful and hard working couple. Hope more friends from Nepal coming to visit Kechara Forest retreat at Bentong.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
Raj Kumar is one of the best traditional tailor of tibetan thangka brocade, lama robes, deity clothes etc. He has done so many sewing jobs for many monastery in Nepal and India. Raj Kuamr does not talks much, he is very humble, always smile same as his wife, sangeeta.
Two years back Kechara Saraswati Arts (KSA)has invited Raj Kumar to malaysia to teache KSA local tailor and volunteer to sew lama robes, thangka according to traditional way. Raj Kumar very kind to agree to come to teach them, he told us that he willing to teach KSA tailors so that when one day he pass on, the art of tibetan sewing still preserve and continue not stop at him. Its show how is his selfless and generous.
Suming and KB took a very good care of Raj kumar and sangeeta when they were here. Both of them were very touch, especially when they met and pay respected to Rinpoche which was the most joyful and blessing for them as he respect Rinpoche as his Guru.
Raj Kumar is a very nice, soft spoken and friendly person. I personally got to know him when Kechara Paradise staffs went on a shopping trip to Nepal (http://www.kechara.com/shopping/news/good-times-in-kathmandu/). Raj Kumar ferried us to and from wherever and whenever he could without complains and waited patiently for us to finish our chores. I have read about Raj Kumar when he was featured in the Star newspapers years back when Raj Kumar was volunteering in Kechara Saraswati Arts (http://www.kechara.com/arts/), those beautiful brocades that were sewn by him.
Even when they were here, they gave their time and volunteered in giving out food to the homeless. How sweet!
Raj Kumar is a humble Nepali man. During his first trip here to help out and teach our local people here in KSA, many people commented how hardworking and humble Raj was. And this was proven further when he became very instrumental to the entire Kechara Organization in setting up Rinpoche’s Ladrang and Kechara Lounge in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Raj is a man of many resources and is very much liked by the people of his townsfolk. Though skilled with the art of sewing Buddha’s clothes, Raj never fails to keep up his spiritual commitments. He is a very inspiring figure within the Buddhist community in Nepal as he started from nothing and worked his way to who he is today.
Kechara and Tsem Ladrang has the honor to host them during their stay here and Sangeeta commented that it is their honeymoon since they’ve not been out of Nepal after they’ve married.
Many Happy wishes to them!
Terima Kasih Rinpoche!
It is so warm to know that KSK even has participants from Nepal, Mr Raj Kumar and wife, shows that this cause, besides it having the function of helping the homeless and downtrodden, it has Dharmic causes which was what KSK was founded on as well and so fortunate are those who can connect with KSK on a spiritual level.
And having read about how he has benefited Rinpoche through his friendship and skills, it’s great to see how Dharmic affinities can be such a blessing on both a mundane and spiritual level.
Everytime I read on this issue, I fondly recollect on how the Nepalese staff in KSA are doing and how they had helped enriched my life in many ways, especially in opening up myself. And how Rinpoche has taken such good care of them that it spills out of them to whoever that they meet and in this case myself.
The first time I heard of Raj Kumar was more than 3 years ago from the Head of KSA. I wondered why was this person so crucial to KSA. Later I found out Raj Kumar specialises in the brocade sewing
After all the paper work done for immigration, Raj Kumar finally arrived. He took part at the road show orgianised by Kechara Paradise in Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall to promote the art of tangkha making.
Even though Raj Kumar could not communicate fluently with other members in the beginning but his warmth and friendliness won everyone.
When a big group of us went to Nepal at the end of 2008, Raj Kumar looked after us well from lodging to transport.
During the period of renovation on Rinpoche’s Ladrang in Kathmandu, Raj Kumar was a tower of strength to Rinpoche’s students in supervising the project.
We all treasure Raj Kumar’s friendship and help very much and to many of us ,he is one of the beloved sangha of KH.
Raj Kumar is so funny, warm and welcoming. I met him the first time he came to Malaysia and hit it off. While we don’t speak too much English we just happen to know what each other is saying, well most of the time. With an infectious laugh and a big smile even serious work becomes light work.
See what I mean…

Have met the whole family, dogs and all last time I was in Nepal, he has his story to tell regarding his Dharma path. Also a man that now has a life in and supported by Dharma. He travels the world with his much sought after skills and talents.
Incredible people who has the good fortune to connect with Rinpoche and doing great dharma works to benefit people wherever they go. And as regards KSK – it is such a great cause and answering to the plight of the homelessness.
