Young Kecharians at Tsem Ladrang!
A small group of young Kecharians were invited to my house at Tsem Ladrang to have some fun there with the Ladrang staff! These kids are so fortunate to meet the Dharma at such a young age, to grow up with so many Dharma friends and to have parents who are strong Dharma practitioners in Kechara.
These young group of Kecharians cooked lunch together and went on a tour of the Ladrang aviary. A total of 13 came to visit my house. They were:
- Lucas Roth
- Julien Roth
- Nicholas Ann
- Katrina Ann
- Joel
- Lucas
- Edward
- Beatrice
- Sean
- Melissa
- Jenni
- Jutika
- Pavara
The Ladrang staff along with two volunteers, Wan Hong and Ba Qin, looked after the younger Kecharians as they cooked, prayed, played and had fun. For the cooking session, they were divided into two groups led by Sean and Melissa as the two of them assumed the role of “Head Chef of the Day”… hehe very cute.
The Ladrang staff did a wonderful job to invite these children over the Ladrang. I hope to see this more often as I am very happy to know that the children had a wonderful time at the Ladrang. Do take a look at the pictures below… how fun!!

Building teamwork among these young children is very important.

One big happy family… May these young Kecharians grow up to be close to each other and be good and responsible citizens in the future.

Chanced upon this article and looking at the learning and fun the kids had at Tsem Ladrang reminds me again of Rinpoche’s compassion. Starting them on the right path by giving them the opportunity to work in cooperation with each other and to enjoy each other’s company for the day. Today they are all young adults and on their way to achieving their dreams and hope they remember this day of Rinpoche’s love for them. And to remember that the Dharma is always within them to be lived out.
Kechara is filled with young people and kids.. Rinpoche always said what we teach them now , they learn and appplay in their life.. It is important to we should incourage younger people to do dharma so in life they can always do good things ..
It’s kinda happy to see this bunch of youngster who started to learn what human life all about. It’s doesn’t really matter what religion they wanna choose when they grow up but at least they know how to treat others better or care about other.
The reason why we organize this little gathering for them is to let them to know better about each other and how each other can support each other to get just a meal. Some of them cut vegetable, some cooked some wash some just help here and there.
A lot of them are now helping in bringing Kechara Forest Retreat up, nice to see them running around, some of them maybe doesn’t know they are building a world class institution that will benefit thousand of thousand in the future.

Rejoice seeing the younger group also able to learn Dharma.
Thanks for the wonderful sharing.
These kids have such good virtue to meet the Dharma at such a young age. I was their age when I first went to Tsem Rinpoche’s Ladrang.
At that time I didn’t think much of it, but in retrospect – wow!
Many people might look at this post and think that these kids are lucky, but they’re not there without their own effort. They must have created the causes to be able to be invited to Tsem Rinpoche’s own Ladrang!
Happy to see the Ladrang full of active, awesome kids 🙂
To be able to be in the Ladrang for such a fun, wonderful and meaningful gathering is one of the best times on my life, it started with cooking of course…we cooked Healthy Brown Rice lots and lots French fries, lots and lots of potato chips some sticky things called Lasagna. We also bought some fresh greens too. Then Aunty Joy took us for a tour of the Ladrang, she also introduced us to all the birds in your wonderful Aviary and then last but not least was a quiz where there was 5 Manjushri Posters and one Setrap Tsa Tsa Thank you once again Rinpoche for inviting me to such a wonderful event.
The dharma does wonders with kids. They develop such calm minds and there is just this deeper awareness they posses about others. No…do not get me wrong…they will not be angels overnight. They will have their funky odd behaviors, and will still drive you up the wall, they ARE afterall kids. BUT what parents should look out for is that inner calmness and compassion they have on important matters.
My boys Julien and Lucas have this self-control which I just cannot precisely describe but all I know is that I have the inner peace knowing they will be ok with the Dharma in their hearts and minds. I sense this deeper understanding of things from them which comes from compassion. This I can express with the recent change in their lives.
I am very proud of my sons for themselves and how they have developed with the Dharma. And I thank Rinpoche and Ladrang staff for having them over. Excellent video!
A very thank you to the Ladrang Staff for orgainizing this such eventful gathering for the children of Kecharian. It is by them showing good example to their younger dharma brothers and sisters, helping each other in cooking, doing prayers together, and having fun too. I beleive this day is a wonderful and memorable for the kids of Kecharian. As a parent, it is such a peace to know that my children are learning dharma in a fun way. Thank you Rinpoche for the blessings.
Rejoice seeing the younger group also able to learn Dharma. When the younger generation are in Dharma, we can be sure that they will be ok when they grow up and the world will be a better world.
May more and more boys and girls able to close the Dharma and Rinpoche.
I rejoice for these kids !! They are so fortunate to meet the dharma and can involve into dharma activities at such a young age ^_^
May them grow up be a great person and can inspiring more young generation to pratice dharma and benefit more others !!
Thanks for the wonderful sharing!
Yes, these kids are indeed very very fortunate to meet Dharma in their early age. I believe Dharma will change their rest of their life meaningfully and positively, and to live not just to their own, but for others. This is very important for world peace!
May these kids grow up to be fantastic person, and get more people to see the precious value of Dharma.
It is great to introduce Rinpoche’s ladrang to the children and help out. It is like a dharma field visit to expose them to the works of the Ladrang. Perhaps they can include different groups of children for future visits, to include others from the Kechara Children Dharma classes.
Thank You Rinpoche and the ladrang teams for giving them such wonderful privilege to be in ladrang. The kids are really fortunate at their young age to meet Dharma and involve in the Dharma activities. Hope that when they grow up….they will be of benefit to others.
These kids are indeed extremely fortune to be exposed to Dharma young and have parents who are practioners. This is due to their good karmic seed ripening. They are connected to the 3 Jewels at a tender age and I pray they will continue this path in this live and their future lives.
Rejoice for all the young Kecharian, they are so fortunate that able to meet and practice Dharma hence so near to Rinpoche in such young age. May they are the next quality generation Kecharian to help Rinpoche spread the Dharma to benefit more.
Good for kids to learn about teamwork and the importance of working together with harmony and care! So when they grow up, they will care for others more, they understand how to take care of others and of course the whole situation. They will have the experience to work closely with each other. And from this, they learn how to give command, receive instruction well and do accordingly.
Rejoice for all of them! 🙂
It is hopeful to know that this next generation will be better with exposure to Rinpoche’s teachings. Today, many young individuals do not even think of cleaning their dirty dishes as they have someone to pick up after them. I am proud to say that in Kechara, under the guidance of Tsem Rinpoche, the young have the opportunity to put into action Dharma practice in a fun way.
Not only did the kids have a good time working and creating together, the young adults like Ba qin and Wan Hong got the experience and responsibility of taking care of others. I look forward to having more such activities at Tsem Ladrang.
This is really fun and good activities for the young children. As what Rinpoche have say the kids is fortunate to meet Dharma in young age yet they so close to it…Dharma also can be fun, Dharma is in our life..i’m fortunate also able to meet Rinpoche and learn Dharma from him . Now i can let my children to close to Dharma and accompany them through out their whole life which definitely can benefit them.
These children are very blessed to have Rinpoche’s care and guidance at such a tender age. It is true that in today’s world, children must have a right start in life and to adopt certain values that would help them become better human beings when they reach adulthood. Cooking, playing, eating together may seem like just fun, not realizing they are actually learning from each other.
It is so blessed for these kids to have meet with dharma at such young age. They have lots of fun while enjoying good time with dharma sisters and brother!
Keep it up kids! Keep it up Ladrang team!
So nice to spend an afternoon with dharma brothers and sisters like this.So blessed to have come to dharma in this young age. This is a special relationship they share together with a gang of friends that do not have blood ties yet so close with each other.
The best to gift to give to young generation will be Dharma, the best gift to get will be Dharma, except iPad, samsung tablet...Hehe.
Having met with the dharma at such young age these children will go up to be good people and have a good future. It is great to see them having fun in a conducive dharma environment while pursuing their spiritual path.
Through our Lama’s kindness, these young Kecharians are very fortunate to be able to learn and experience dharma in their young age. We do not know the future of our children but one thing for sure by encouraging them to involve more into dharma activities like these will definitely helped them to find the good qualities in themselves, so that they gain confidence and learn to keep themselves at the right path while growing up. In
the growing process, they see and experience many good and bad things that come to their way, being able to judge, decide and to hold their integrity is very important to them. These kids will grow up with kindness and generosity as the main ingredients of their lives, where they bring world peace to the future.
More and more kids will be joining Kechara in the future. They will be the people who manage and take care of Kechara when all of us are old, sitting in the retreat huts of KFR and KWPF and meditate. That’s what I see for myself and my kids in future. Nice!
They are so cute. Met them that day in Ladrang, all of them are very co-operative and when we did a short prayer before having meal, all of them can memorize and recite Migtsema (Mantra of the King of Dharma Tsongkhapa) and recite our daily dedication in Tibetan, they can remember them by heart.
Kids with Dharma will never go wrong. Start young and I am very sure they will have a very bright future.
Great to see the young one have such opportunity to meet and learn Dharma. The earlier they learn and practice the more they will gain and more people will be benefited. Their parents have been great example for them to be in dharma. This kids will definitely inspire more of other young one and this is how the new generation starting to build up for dharma to grow in future.
Thank you Rinpoche for looking after the Dharma kids and giving them values and care that far transcend anything they would have otherwise received. All every parent wants is for their child to be okay, and with Dharma and Rinpoche as their guide, reinforced by the parents following Rinpoche’s advice, the kids will be more than okay.
With much love and gratitude, Sharon
These kids are truly fortunate to have this opportunity to play, learn and work in Rinpoche’s ladrang. How meritorious it is that this is an invitation-only event.
These kids are fortunate because they have parents who practice dharma and so they start dharma young. As compared to those who do not have the chance to meet dharma at all within their present lives, these kids are a lot more fortunate.
I hope that these kids and the many other kids who have the fortune to come to Rinpoche’s ladrang will realise how lucky they are to be close to dharma at their young age and to have a high lama who care for them. May they all grow up as great people and to be of help to those who are in need.
It is important for kids to have spirituality since young, more so in today’s life. All the influences of advertisements etc will only teach our kids to be more and more materialistic and the mainstream will teach the kids to solve problems with money such as drugs, alcohol, party, etc..
Having planted spirituality in kids does not mean we pray for problems to avoided for the kids, instead, we pray that, when the problem come the kids, they can handle them well and grow and learn from it.
Thank you Ladrang for organising such activities 🙂
It’s wonderful to see the kids are gathering and having so much fun and being spiritual at the same time. To meet the dharma such a young age is truely fortunate 🙂 may them grow up and be a great person.
So proud of these kids to be in Dharma at their young age.
Meeting Kecahra will be the best thing that ever happen in their life.
May Dharma knowledge that they learn guide and mold them to be a great person whom is compassionate and always lending help out to those needy ones.
Kids with Dharma grow up very differently from kids without Dharma in terms of maturity, strength, growth, care and kindness.
These kids are so fortunate to meet the Dharma at such a young age, with inspiring parents as role models who dedicate their time, energy, love, and resources to the Dharma and benefitting others. What a meaningful and precious life to lead.
As part of the Ladrang team, it was a pleasure having the young Kecharians around. We had lots of fun all evening! I am sure there will be many more events like this, so.. for the eager younger ones who are dying to have another awesome day out, stay tuned!
Yes, these kids and many more to come are very fortunate to be able to continue with their spiritual journey at such young age. It has to be manifestation of their aspirational prayers made during their previous lives and merits accumulated to be able to meet with the dharma again at such young age.
They will soon grow into fine young adults and eventually leaders in their own fields armed with spirituality. As good as samsara can get. I rejoice for them.
