I must also pay my compliments to Kechara Southern Jewel Chapel (KSJC) members and the people in Batu Pahat who had supported and make their Chapel grow. When they just started to form in 2007. It is true the people who are Rinpoche’s students are very humble students who are also very dedicated to Kechara House. In every big event that KH organises, without fail they will be in K.L. to help out. Either the whole group or their representatives will come. Although many of us have not been to their Chapel they will make it a point to know us when they come to KH. Fat monk has been very kind to offer his house to Rinpoche to start the centre.
Kechara Southern Jewel Chapel started from at 2007 under blessing of lord Setrap and Rinpoche. I remember at 1998, Rinpoche invited by Wong Kok Thai (Fatmonk Monk) to his home town to met some of his friends. Fm has seen his friends have a lot of problem. Most of them don’t know about dharma. FM requested Rinpoche to help them. Rinpoche gave them Lord Setrap Practice to clear their immediate problem. Many people from Batu Pahat get help from lord Setrap and generate the strong faith to devote to Setrap. FM even offered his house for Rinpoche to start the center. After 9 years, a group of people lead by Fm, assist by Steven Chew, Alan, Grace, Jung Tan and Yen Ping start put their effect together started KSJC Chapel. This group of people are very sincere, get donation to raise fund to form the chapel up. They always come up to KL to help when KH have any event. They always loyal and delicate to lord Setrap. I rejoice their devotion and hard work to Setrap and Rinpoche.
Kechara Southern Jewel Chapel ( KSJC) is one of the first chapels outside of the hustling and bustling city of Kuala Lumpur. KSJC is located at where the name states the southern part of peninsular Malaysia, Johor. KSJC solves many people’s problems by praying to the great Lord Setrap Chen and his entourages. I have not been there yet but I wish my Mama will take me there some day. I want to make three prostrations to the great statue of the Dharma protector of Kechara House and Gaden Monastery in Johor Bahru of Lord Setrap Chen and maybe be able to have to good fortune to do a short puja there.
Terima Kasih Rinpoche!
I recall following Mr Ngeow and Mr Chee down south to this place recently and boy! I never knew that a bunch of men could talk non-stop on Dharma from KL-JB-KL!!!
This JB group was warm and welcoming and I rejoice that they had the merit to set up this Chapel and even ensure its growth and their keen hearts for the Dharma was apparent and alive.
It was a privilege to have met them and I wish them continued growth in the Dharma and everything else in life.
Lord Setrap has certainly done His part for them and now with the people’s ongoing resolution and commitment, may they propel on to further heights of growth and prosperity!
I was at the initial Southern Jewel Chapel a couple of years ago when it was first inaugurated. It is just amazing because it has grown to this and through Setrap’s blessings, so many people are going to get relief from their problems and difficulties. It is just amazing and it would be good that Setrap’s practice gets proliferated because some of those whose prayers are answered will find faith in the Dharma and some might even practice.
Setrap is one amazing Protector that has been assisting Kechara House to expand by leaps and bounds due to our samaya with our Lama. Over the course of the last few years, Setrap’s puja in Kechara House mother center itself has grown by leaps and bounds as well. It is popular because many people have found relief from their problems. Hence, it is our biggest puja at the moment and it draws in quite a number of spiritual seekers. There is not doubt that Setrap practice is crucial in the development of our center.
A few of us had the good fortune to be invited down to Johor for the grand opening of their Setrap Chapel a few years ago. Then, it was made up of a small group of people with big hearts and the sincere wish to make something grow in the southern states of Malaysia.
Since then, they have grown leaps and bounds; the committee has taken an extra leap to develop the group. not only have they consistently and continuously made their weekly pujas grow, but have also recently introduced Lamrim classes to the people in the south. Even friends from Singapore are going up to join them for the classes and pujas now.
They’re also at almost every major function in KL – Often, they drive up early in the morning, attend the event, and drive back late at night – that’s up to 7 or 8 hours of driving but they’re always here happily, merrily, smiling and full of energy to participate, contribute, volunteer and help. (oh I so wish we could “steal” them up to KL so they’re here with us permanently hehe)
Join them, contact them, send them love: http://www.kechara.com/kechara-house/study-groups/southern-jewel-chapel-johor/
I am beginning today some Setrap practices. Thank you for offering so much information on how to practice with Lord Setrap.
