Kuantan Study Group
This is a photo of the committee members of the Kechara Study Group in Kuantan. From the left to right is Leonard Chia, Wong Suet Moi, Lim Shin Shan, Au Wei Ling and Mr Yeo. Leonard is the President of Kuantan Study Group, with Mr Yeo as Vice-President.
On the 2nd of January, Leonard and Suet Moi came down to Kuala Lumpur to join in the simplified Lamrim class. While they were here, they received gifts too. I had asked the Ladrang gift section to arrange for gifts for them to bring back to Kuantan, so that they can give them to their sponsors and volunteers.
Dear Kechara Study Group…it is rare to come across the mind that wishes to place spirituality at the forefront of our lives although our lives are very short and ends with not much meaning most of the time. Since you have gained this opportunity to come across the complete and pure lineage of Lama Tsongkapa, I request you to go all the way. Be patient with eachother. Work hard with eachother. Communicate with eachother with love, respect, care and genuine sense of brotherhood and sisterhood. Treat eachother in such a way that it becomes an inspiration that many people will want to join us and receive the benefits of sacred dharma. If we cannot treat eachother well, how can we encourage other people to join us to find meaning and direction in their lives. Everything starts small, but it can and will grow if we put effort into it. We will put effort if we see the value of what we are doing. The way to see value is if we study, read and listen up to the dharma. When we know what the dharma is, then we will see great value and a deep sense of commitment will arise naturally.
Once you have committed to Kechara Study Group in Kuantan, go all the way and be loyal. Stick to one centre, one practice, one path but respect all. If we go all the way with one path, then we will not become confused or have unnecessary waste of time. People who run to many centres, they usually learn very little contrary to some thoughts. I speak from experience of meeting thousands of people. When we marry our spouses, we stick with our spouse….Before confirming check carefully if this tradition fits you..if it does then only commit. Once you commit, go all the way.
Practice and read up on the 8 verses of thought transformation, Wheel of Sharp Weapons, Guru devotion by Tsongkapa (beautiful book), read the Masters of Enchantment, 14 lives of Dalai Lama (very inspirational) and focus on Lam Rim. Lam Rim is the bible….As your yidam, focus on Tsongkapa and migtzeyma..you can’t go wrong with that. When you have obstacles do strong serkym to Setrap. The Study group should strongly focus on Setrap for growth of dharma in that area. Be convicted to Setrap and he will help you to make Buddhadharma grow in the area and in your minds. Do Setrap’s practice regularly as a group in the Study Group facilities…
Do group 100,000 Migtzeyma mantra retreats every six months..Do one hundred thousand migtzeymas as a group collectively every six months together..encourage everyone to join..will be very good….
Do Setrap retreats once a year…do Setrap’s mantra collectively 100k and serkym 30k collectively during the annual retreats…do it in a group and do collective mantras…Encourage your children to do Tsongkapa retreats once a year at Study group focussing on Om Ah Ra Ba Za Na dhi..which is the short mantra..Can ask the KH liaisons or Chia instructions on this…very important. It will help your children in school and for their lives…very good for children….For their retreats, teach them to do the mantra with Gaden Hlagyema together. Each child should do 10k mantra per retreat..can do more if they like and make water offerings to the Three Jewels on the shrine. Before the Migtzeyma retreat, watch the video I have on youtube in which I give commentary on Gaden Hlagyema so you can learn up on the benefits of Tsongkapa and migtzeyma’s practice… Make many water offerings at least 108 a day twice a day during retreat….Once a year do Lam Rim retreat…read the Lam Rim out loud (not shouting) as if you are reading the sutra…recite the lam rim and collectively read through it once a year. This would be wonderful and powerful practices for our lovely people in Kuantan. (All Kechara Study groups wherever you are can do these practices/retreats I am recommending.)
I do not advise to practice many deities and many practices…focus on what I have recommended and you will receive great results..
Make Kechara Study Group in Kuantan grow and become a powerfully beneficial institution…don’t be afraid of think how is that possible?? Just believe it can be done…
I am very happy to get updates on your progress..at the end of this post there is a comments section.. I would like the Study group to appoint someone to write in the comments of this post every week or when you can to update me regularly..make a timing.. I can read updates from comment section here and get updates of your activities and thoughts and many people can read and be updated also. So on this post many comments can be gathered and read over time…..
I send you my good wishes and sincere prayers…

Dear Kuantan Study group, I was at the official opening of your lovely center last year and I have seen been very inspired by your desire to study and practise the Dharma. Your consistent visits to KL proves your willingness to work for the Dharma to grow in Kuantan.

In the very near future, the KH committee with the assistance of our Dharma teacher Mr. Ngeow will be requesting for all our Study groups in Malaysia to gather in our KL Center to plan and forge a partnership whereby each group will grow and spread the Dharma to benefit others.
