Overview
Located in Bandar Puteri Puchong, Jolli Garden first opened their doors a year ago. It is truly a fortune to discover this wonderful restaurant. Despite it’s regular and plain looking front, Jolli Garden certainly serves quality Chinese cuisine. This is a vegetarian Chinese-food lover must try!
Reviewer’s Ratings
Interior – 3/5
Jolli Garden has a very simple, comfortable and clean environment. There’s nothing amazing about the interior but it’s fine for a pleasant family dinner. The tables are far apart enough not to bump into another person’s seat, but don’t be surprised if you can hear the next table’s conversation!
Food – 4/5
Surprisingly, for a low profile vegetarian restaurant, Jolli Garden serves really delicious Chinese cuisine. The food is well-presented, with the most notable serving being the Mushroom with Marmite dish. It is absolutely delicious and rarely available in other vegetarian restaurants. Their Assam Cod fish dish is also very well-prepared, it is not too sour nor spicy, but tastes just nice.
Vegetarian Assam Cod Fish | Claypot Pork |
Yam Basket | Oyster Mushroom with Marmite |
Seaweed Soup | Broccoli with mushroom |
Pricing – 3/5
Jolli Garden offers a wide variety of dishes in their menu at a very reasonable price, with a price range of RM 7 – RM 20 for most of their servings.
Vegetarian Selection – 4/5
Jolli Garden has a wide selection of Chinese cuisine to be selected on the menu. Any Chinese dish that you may possibly want to eat is probably available on the menu. They serve a la carte, as well as set lunches and dinner. Their menu is easy to read and very clear.
Service – 3/5
The one downfall of this restaurant is the staff service, as it is not impressive at all. Although they are quick to serve, bring the menu, take orders, deliver food and also accepting payment; they are not very friendly or pleasant to their customers, especially when the restaurant is packed.

if you are looking for a “typical chinese vegetarian restaurant” this is definitely it. personally i always like the oyster mushroom dishes! crispy and tasty! and also always like the “fish”. its so amazing what the humble soy bean can be made into!
ohh is near my uncle house, we can have a family gathering there! Oyster mushroom with marmite looks delicious.
Thank you Rinpoche and team sharing!
Thank you for sharing Rinpoche. Nice pictures. The oyster mushroom with marmite looks yummy…Puja Team who wants to come with me…?
Vegetarian food can be very delicious too. The dishes here looks very nice and tempting.. hehe.. the presentation is done very well. I would like to try the marmite mushroom. More and more vegetarian restaurants are established here in Kuala Lumpur which is a very good sign, whether it is for health reason or religious reason, less animals are killed for our pleasure.
Wow…the photo looks really delicious. hehe, i tried the mushroom before, really tasty !!
I think I can bear with the so-so service for good food as long as it is not hostile 🙂 Bandar Puteri is not too far from my house. Will try it out this weekend and let u know!
The variety of pure vegeterian and vegan food in KL is endless nowadays, provided if you know where to look! Eating is said to be a national pastime in Malaysia, be it Malay, Chinese, Indian, Thai or Western cusines. Unless you are familiar, it may seem difficult to find good vegeterian cusines eating places, like what is recommended by our Blog here. Though it is said that a picture speaks louder than a thousand words, but when it comes to eating, it is always the “taste” that counts, and that is real. So it makes eating at Joli Garden all the more necessary!
The yam basket looks good. yummy yummy 🙂
Nice photo shooting, it really bring out “taste” of the food..goods to have more place for vegetarian!
Wow! The food looks delicious and I wish it was nearer to PJ. Rinpoche does have an amazing blog and if I have time (if ever), I would like to go and try out the food. It is very nice to eat delicious, wholesome (not sure if it is but I will assume that it is) vegetarian food.
After being a vegetarian for so long, it is really nice to go for guilt-free dining. I wonder how people can so casually put pieces of dead animals into their mouths. Worse of all, I have seen a photo of a rare steak (with blood oozing out of it) that my friend posted on Facebook. He said he had it at a swank restaurant in Hong Kong and the steak was delicious.
Yum Yum the food looks delicious. Would love to try one of these days. Taking vegetarian food is so much better and healthier than taking meat.
Wow…yummy yummy. We all sure have another choice for our tummy. Thank you for sharing. Please continue to share more 🙂
Look so yummy…wish to try the food there one day.
So many vegetarian outlets have sprung up recently and newer ones are offering delectable and delicious mouth savouring vegetarian dishes. Vegetarian food is good for folk like me with a high cholesterol index.
At home my Indonesian house helper has no choice but to settle for vegetarian food, she hates vegetable! LOL!
I think I have been to this restaurant, the food is tasty n ambience very casual.
What more do we want for a restaurant?
Thank you for the review. The information included is very comprehensive, better than most food/restaurant review in newspapers !!
The food looks good! I used to dislike unfriendly staff but then I realized that it’s not their fault. They may have their own problems. They might be tired too from working. So it’s ok so long as food is GOOD!
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this.
Give us another option of great vegetarian food.
The Vegetarian Assam Cod Fish look nice!

Han, isnt this restaurant near where you live? The Assam Cod Fish and Seaweed soup looks good. I like these kind of fuss free restaurants; almost like ‘Touch n Go’.
