Mumu’s Care
When I first brought Mumu (pic below) back home in 2004 it was the first time that I decided to take responsibility to take care of a schnauzer. I didn’t know much about them, and found it hard to discipline Mumu… He was a real monster in the beginning… He would tear up newspaper and smear his poopoo everywhere!! And do mini irritating things dogs would do…
Me and my assistants did a bit of research and found this book called “Miniature Schnauzer“. I read it a few times over, applied the techniques given and found them very effective. All it took was some effort on my part and Mumu was happy, well-behaved and everyone found him to be a real charm to be around with.
Below are a few videos on how to care for schnauzers. How to shower them, clean their teeth, clean their ears, clean their paws etc. Each dog/species are different so do not take my videos as the final authority on how to care for dogs. I just show you how we do it. It might help you, but you must do it according to your dog, their species and temperament. You must do your own research and learn up. Love your dog by caring for them according to their needs. Ultimately the more we care about our dogs, the more we can enjoy them and they can enjoy their lives.
Take a look… I hope that they are helpful.

The Chair
I have one chair I usually sit on to do my sadhana, watch a program, read, write, research and so on. But many times I return from my bathroom, Oser girl has taken over my chair. She gives me this look like, it’s her chair! She’s a spunky little schnauzer. The room has so much space, other sofas and places of interest, but my Oser has to hijack my chair always. I have to gently move her over and squeeze in next to her like I did last night into the same chair. We sat together for hours and she fell asleep in my chair huddled against me. Love is sharing a chair even though it’s meant for one occupant at a time. ? Tsem Rinpoche
It is incredible how smart Oser girl is. She can steal the treat away from Dharma boy and so casually. Wow. She is so smart. A must watch short video!! Tsem Rinpoche

I have been taking care Mumu for many years. He one of the cute and gentle pet I ever seen. He is always alert and week train by Rinpoche. Rinpoche gave all of us to read the books and learn how to take care Mumu. It is amazing so much we can learn from the book..
Taking care animals specially for dogs..
Take care of the animals! When the weather is very hot or very cold, we need to watch out for the animals because they depend on us for their well-being.
Please do not leave dogs in cars, even if the windows are down a few inches – that is not enough to keep them safe from extreme heat.
Also, please do not take them for walks on the hot pavement, it can burn and blister their paws.
If you can, bring them into the house, or even a “cool” garage during extreme heat or cold. I’m sure they will be more comfortable and safer.
Please treat them like they should be treated and you will feel better for it.
Always provide fresh water and shelter if they have to be outside. They have the same feelings and needs as we do.
I never knew that the extend of care we have to show to a dog is so much. It is not just to shower, bring for walks, play, clean them. But the degree of care to all the small details we have to care as well. KB is really someone that is very good with the dogs.
I would never have known that we have to care so much for these little babies if it was not for these videos. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing with all of us here some of the details that we have to check and make sure so that our dogs will be well groomed and healthy.
Mumu is so cute and so adorable. He is so smart and funny. I have played with him few times, these videos are extremely cute too. Thank you Rinpoche fro sharing this.
OMB! The Mumus are super adorableeee!! Yogi looks so cute while getting his teeth brushed. I can’t wait to adopt a doggie later when I’m a grown up.. hehehe! Thank You for sharing the cute videos Rinpoche, I enjoyed watching that.
Love, beatrix.
Wow all the mumus are so cute. They like to play also. Always very active.
Zamkar was the last one to go on the ride. All of them like to play. It must have been fun for all the dogs.
I love those video Rinpoche posted.
Thank you very much for sharing the videos Rinpoche.

Oh my my… This is so cute! Yes mumus are part of the Ladrang team and through them we learn how to care beyond the norm because Rinpoche loves all sentient beings especially those lesser then us. Not just for them but also for us, to cultivate care, compassion, alertness and awareness when we are for these cute babies. They can’t talk back, and cannot say thank you. So we always need to be aware when they are around. KB is like their God Daddy… he really cares for them and does his best in training them, and he also teaches us all in ladrang!
They are so lucky for their paths to cross with Rinpoche and Rinpoche does not fail to ensure they also collect as much merits as they can while with us. Besides just the extra loving care. Check out the Mumu’s Buddha Garden 😉 http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/mumu-pets/mumu%E2%80%99s-buddha-garden.html
Are you feeling sad? Do you feel like the whole world is crumbing down around you? Take a look at these cute adorable faces and all your worries will fade away.
How to so you pet care, is how you taking care of them and training up the pet. That way yourself will learn how to communicate with your pet.
Our pet is not just as the entertainment for us. The are animal are can’t talk when they are suffer. If we learn to take care the animal, eventually you will care for others.
The doggies are adorable beyond words! Watching Rinpoche play with the doggies really warms my heart.. I can feel Rinpoche’s love for the doggies.. Rinpoche is so compassionate and kind towards all sentient beings. Truly an inspiration to us all!
Owning a pet is a life time commitment. If we cannot commit time aside for the pets then we should reconsider owning a pet..
Thank you for the informative videos,Rinpoche!
All the lovely MUMUS remind me of my pets at home.
The gentle care and love towards animals are so important that we will never ill treat animals, animals do not talk do not mean they have no heart, they can be more humane than a human being, never never harm animals!
Beautiful videos. All the mumus are so lucky to be under Rinpoche’s care and i hope all the pet owners can do the same to their pets! We can actually practice patience and compassion when we keep pets.
these dogs are very fortunate to be in Rinpoche’s house and stay with Rinpoche under great care and love. i hope these dogs enjoy and live long so they can be with the best Guru in the world for their happy lives.
Oh My~! Do Re Mi Fa Sooooo cute Mumusssssssssssssssssss~~~
All are so cute and intelligent!!
Rinpoche and KB really has did great job in taking care all of them.
They are just like real member of a family! Lucky mumus to have friends everyday so they are not alone and lonely.
Looking at Gizmo drinking water is so cute… if only my Longlong dog would drink more water….
Until the day i started to adopt Longlong, i really understand that to train and take care of a dog is just like taking care of a baby. Everything you do, you will also have to plan and put them into consideration before decision make, you have to be more responsible, and have discipline, as having a dog is not just for fun.
Thank you Rinpoche…!
They are so cute! Rinpoche really takes care of them by making sure he gets the proper knowledge on how to handle the dogs. Lucky mumus!
Absolutely love all the videos and photos on all the mumus!
I had my very first Mini Schnauzer forty over years ago and have been having schnauzers since then, and will continue having them for the rest of my life. Dogs (of any breed) are the second most important part of my life ( Dharma being the first )! I can just talk and talk about these wonderful beings all the time and not ever get tired !
They are more than Man’s Best Friend , they are the Best Family Member any one can hope or ask for !
The joy that they bring into one’s life is totally immeasurable! Watching the videos on these precious mumus bring so much happiness in me.(I tried to get my 3 schnauzers and their 3 brothers to watch the videos with me, but unfortunately they were more interested in something else.)
Really made my day watching the videos! Thank you Rinpoche .
I only managed to watch Zamkar shower and Mumu, Oser and Zamkar playing. I marveled at the way the dogs are cared for and loved by Rinpoche and KB. KB is so patient and meticulous in cleaning Zamkar, down to the paws and combing his furs! These dogs have such a happy home. Thanks to Rinpoche for sharing these delightful and entertaining videos.
Rinpoche’s care for animals is legendary and how much he cares for animals not just the animals he has but even the animals that he comes across. How he would feed the hungry dogs and lots of avian friends those are close to his residence.
Dogs are adorable creatures and offer comfort. They have big hearts,no matter how you yell or ignore them, dogs tend to be eternally loyal and show emotions not reflected by any other animal or person.
One may ask “why is so much time and effort put into making videos” of our pets?
At the beginning, we may not directly see the benefit of these videos unless you are naturally an animal lover. However, as I watch the videos, the impression of how our pets are so very much like us. Thus, they should be cared for like any other human being?
in learning how to care for animals will also train us up to care for other people because we develop the habit of being attentive to others.
Thank you, RInpoche for always giving us fun, varied opportunities to learn.
I wonder if QE2 has a webpage like this for her corgis?
It is the care that went into taking care of these Mumus. With proper guided training, mumus can be well-behave, loving and lovable.
Oh dear! All the mumus are incredibly cute and Rinpoche does a great job to ensure that they are well taken cared of. I don’t know anybody who takes care of his dogs so well and so thoroughly. KB, who manages the mumus knows a lot more and much of his expertise comes from authoritative books. Rinpoche ensures that the toys and food is of the highest quality. That’s just a little of how well the mumus are taken cared of.
