Bigfoot declared to exist in 1974

This is a little interesting article and newspaper clipping I came across. I find it totally fascinating how sometimes Bigfoots are ‘confirmed’ to exist and other times ‘confirmed’ not to exist. Take a read. Let me know what you feel about the fluctuation in confirmations.

The public knows very little about Bigfoot. In fact, most claim that Bigfoot is a mythical creature and does not exist. Almost everyone knows Bigfoot is approximately eight feet tall, is very hairy, has big feet, and may or may not exist. The majority of the academic and scientific world scoffs at the idea such a creature could exist, and the news media can always find a good Halloween story if the hunt up the local Bigfoot hunter. Skeptics almost always blow off the evidence that has been laid before them. This evidence includes foot castings, hand castings, vocal recordings, photos, videos, hair, scat, fingerprints, and thousands and thousands of eye witness reports. But, if this evidence was presented in a court of law, Bigfoot would be convicted as existing.
What if a government agency came out as admitted Bigfoot exists. Not just any little rink-dink branch or shop, but a major branch of the Federal Government—The US Army? Recognition from such an authority would surely shake up the skeptics and Nay-Sayers and deserve a closer look?
In 1974, the US Army officially recognized the ape like creature inhabiting the Northwest and Siberia known as Bigfoot. The Army Corps of Engineers devoted a complete page to Bigfoot in their 1974 Washington Environmental Atlas.
In the Atlas, it is revealed the FBI had done major testing on hair samples, and concluded the hair did not come from any human or known animal source. The article did state the FBI could not provide any information on the lab tests. This starts to bring up questions. Was the FBI commanded to delete the reports? Was this the start of the “Bigfoot Cover Up?”
It would be interesting to go back and look at historical files to determine when reporting a Bigfoot sighting became associated with being insane. It seems that in 1974 there was a great deal of interest in Sasquatch at very high levels. Then suddenly it became a sign of “being a few cards short in your deck of cards”.
In the Washington Atlas, it describes Bigfoot as being a very large animal of 8 to 10 feet tall, weighing up to 1000 pounds with feet measuring up to 24 inches long. The width of the footprint is up to 10 inches wide.
Does Bigfoot exist? The Army seems to think so.

In 1967, Bob Gimlin and Roger Patterson stumbled across an incredible sight whilst out in Bluff Creek, in the California wilderness. At a creek which had been freshly washed-out by recent floods, they witnessed a female Bigfoot swiftly traverse the rugged landscape. Since their filmed encounter with the Bigfoot, who has since been nicknamed Patty, many have disputed the authenticity of their recording but no one has been able to successfully prove that it is a fake.

The people of Himalayans readily acknowledge the existence of Yeti even though the world out there is still skeptical and searching for more evidence. This largely has to do with the traditional belief among the Himalayans where Yetis are part of the mountains who act as the messengers for lamas who live far apart. In the United States, it is the army who are more readily to accept the elusive called Bigfoot or Sasquatch, probably because of the army are used to training in the woods hence more exposed to encountering creatures that are rare and unusual. I certainly hope that one day Bigfoot will no longer be a creature on the cryptozoology list but a proven living being. Thank you for this interesting sharing.

Before i start of with my comment i would just like to say that i love reading about Bigfoot! I am a strong believer and i hope that Rinpoche posts more articles like this. They are very interesting to read and i have been reading them a lot recently.
Firsty, i would just like to say that i am glad that this discovery has been made. I think its discoveries like this which help the public to believe that Bigfoot really actually does exist. I wish for more of these discoveries to come out in the future. I have also learnt that it is things like this which help people believe and that by giving more information about Bigfoot to the people, the more they are going to believe.
Secondly, the fact that the FBI had done tests on hair found and found that there have been no matches to animal hair or human just shows us more proof that Bigfoot does actually exist. I mean, where else could the hair have come from right? The only logical explanation is that it came from Bigfoot. And i do not think that the FBI would actually delete these files. The FBI is a trusted organisation and i don’t think they would do such things. I also cannot think of any reason of why they would even want to delete the files.
Lastly, i have learnt that people are more likely to believe information that has come from a more reliable source. In this case the reliable source of information would be the US Army. People are more likely to trust information from the US Army compared to that of an individual. And i also do not think that the US Army would lie about this information, so that also makes the information more reliable.

Thanks for sharing this interesting article Rinpoche.There’s so many species out there in the world that we have not known or hear.The existence of Bigfoot has been questions for the past centuries ,though there seems to be evidences of the existence of Bigfoot but we have not confirm it.So whether to believe its existence or not,it depends on each person.Whether do Bigfoot exist or not they are still beautiful creatures.
I believe that Bigfoot exists as it exists in many cultures, east and west. On top of that, they exist in cultures that are divided by the Atlantic ocean. Hence, I believe that they DO exist and there are just very quick and adept at hiding. I think they are just like people, there are nice gentle ones, bad ones and so forth. But the thing is that they have been able to hide and evade human detection in modern times. I believe that the Tibetans believe in their existence and consider them to be just like another animal species. Great lamas who meditate in caves communicate with them and some even have bigfoots come to offer these lamas food. It is all very interesting and it does open the mind to the possibility of higher thought.
Thank you for sharing this interesting piece of information on Bigfoot. If the army of the United States, once claimed that Bigfoot exists, why would it not exist? In 1975, they already had suffice equipment to identify and find it without just pulling stuff out of their head randomly. Interesting.

The FBI would want to cover up the existence of Bigfoot for a few reasons. Firstly, Bigfoot could be extremely endangered. Scientists have covered up locations of organisms that are possibly the final few on earth before. One such example being the world’s tallest tree. If people can confirm Bigfoot’s existence and if more people hunt down Bigfoot, it would be only a matter of years before Bigfoot’s species is eradicated.
Also, it could be that there is a pact between Bigfoot-kind and the U.S. government. I believe that Bigfoot are non-human persons with high intellect. It could be possible that the U.S. government secretly believes so and arranged for a pact to ensure the Bigfoot survival and peace between our species (If they are intelligent and as elusive as they are now, imagine if they decided to hunt humans!)
It would be curious to understand why hunting down bigfoot would be considered an insane expedition. Could it be that the U.S. Government is seeding this idea into the heads of the masses to uphold a peace treaty or ensure survivability of the Bigfoot race? Could it be that the Bigfoots, themselves, have mind controlling powers and are deterring people by making them think that searching for Bigfoot is a pointless waste of time, effort or money? To these questions, we may never know the answer for a very long time.
I wonder Bigfoot has a community just like us and how do they cut their fringe of their hair. What do they eat? Are they vegetarian?
Sometimes I wonder if Big Foot was part of some un-evolved cave man from the past, but hold equal [or more] intelligence than us. Since they can be in hiding and yet in existence for such long period of times without being caught.

Thank you Rinpoche for the sharing. From the evidence, I think they exited in the past and may still exist now. We cannot deny their existence just because we cannot or haven’t see any.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing an interesting posting about Bigfoot’s existence. I personally believe there are Bigfoots around, which are bigger and taller than the size of human being. One of the question in my mind is what is separating between human and Bigfoot since human and Bigfoots are living separately on earth? Are we not showing compassion and care towards many living beings including the Bigfoots that always keep themselves away from human living area?
Pretty interesting news report. As a teenager I was interested and fascinated with such mysteries of the deep ocean, space, mystical and undiscovered creatures living on earth. I’m sure many people felt the same and it would be headline news if and when such mysteries would and could be unraveled one day. I just hope it would be during my life time.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing another eye opening evidence of the existence of Bigfoot. I can never understand why would a government deny facts like this, including the existence of UFO. Is it really difficult to admit this because they do not have answer for it? But the truth is that we do not have answers for everything, by avoiding the fact won’t help either. Evidence can always prove otherwise whether we accept it or not. It would be cool to “bump” into a Bigfoot one day. I would imagined it as warm and familiar somehow.
As the evidence continues to mount, we will see these deniers forced to require more and more extreme proofs to the point of demanding a living, breathing example just to entertain the thought effectively moving the goal post back further and further. It will be of everyone’s concern now. The woods will be filled with hunters wanting to bag a bigfoot or sasquatch and mount its head on a wall or put it in a zoo. Since bigfoot shares human DNA, they should be afforded all rights that humans enjoy, without being hunted or hounded to death. They really needed protection now….so none of us will ever regret that this recovery was ever made. May all existing bigfoots or sasquatch be well blessed to remain out of reach until such time humanity has elvoved into something better. Om mani padme hung.

When the US Army finally declare of the existence of Bigfoot.They came to their senses to face a fact with so many evidence that they could not deny any more.If that creature do not exist then they could not caution others when they are entering its territory.
