Guess who made it to Mars??
NEW DELHI, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) — India on Wednesday made history by becoming the first nation to successfully reach Mars on its first attempt.
“India has reached Mars. India is the only country to have succeeded in its first attempt,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced from the headquarters of the state-owned space agency in the southern city of Bengaluru, telecast live on local TV channels.
“We have made it a habit of achieving the impossible. Humanity would not have progressed if we had not taken such leaps into the unknown and space is the biggest unknown out there,” he added.
Hailing the scientists of Indian Space Research Organisation ( ISRO), Modi said, “You have inspired our future generation. Despite our many limitations, we aspired for the best. The success of our space program has been an example of our achievement.”
“ISRO joins an elite group of only three other agencies worldwide to have successfully reached the Red Planet,” he said.
India’s Mars Orbiter Mission was launched in November last year.

Wow …incredible a small country like India made history by becoming the first nation to successfully reach Mars on its first attempt. It is India’s first interplanetary mission and it made it the fourth space agency to reach Mars. The first nation in the world to do so on its maiden attempt and was the country’s first spacecraft destined for Mars. Rejoice. It has proven that whatever difficulties one encounter, with determination, hard work one will surly succeed.
India pushing the boundaries of space travel rejoice for prime minister Narendra Modi.
Wow, how could I have missed this news! Can you imagine ever going there a hundred years ago? It would be ‘impossible’ to many. Imagine how much efforts have been put in just to reach Mars and hence why couldn’t we explore more in Buddhism and aspire to reach the other shore? Despite that, going there will be a privilege to only a few and how about others? In that sense, wouldn’t it be better to help them through Dharma, showing example through loving kindness and etc while we are still here? Just a thought since we are still ‘here’ now and most probably we will not be going there anyway!
感谢仁波切的宇航讯息分享。希望他們往后能透露更多關於這個神秘紅色星球的一切所知,也恭喜他們超越了自己的宇航局限,以證明有决心,沒有什麼是不可能的。

Thank you for the sharing. It is great to know that with determination, knowledge and synergies team effort ,man could explore beyond the limitation of earth itself. But how much effort do we put into conquering our own destiny of our own mind through dharma practice. In order to achieve the ultimate goal for our existence on earth itself.
Did not expect it to be India… I am surprised! Congratulations to them aspiring to go beyond their limitations and to prove that nothing is impossible. But I also wonder if it will ever be possible for India to improve their infrastructure and the living standards of their people and perhaps reduce poverty? That would have been a much bigger and better WOW I reckon. I am certain it is possible if they can persist on sending a man to Mars.
Wow amazing news, we can’t judge by our own projection.
Congratulation to India, that able to use the limited budget to make it happen (thumbs up)…
Amazing! First attempt. Although the money used can be used for improving the lifestyles of the poor in its country.
Kudos to the Indian and its space program. Also they are using a relatively small budget. Congratulations to the nation of India and ISRO.
Wow, great to read this, hope they will reveal more about this Red planet which Nasa not telling 😀
Cool !
