Bigfoot cookie cutters modeled after Patty

Dear friends,

Our ladrang people in Kechara Forest Retreat made 100 pieces of bigfoot cookies (They baked super fast!) to share with our beautiful Bigfoot store team and customers in Bentong. We have regular customers who visit the Bigfoot store and this will be a nice treat for them. Some of the bigfoot cookies were shared with our hard working Puja team in Bentong. All of the Kecharians working, living, studying, practicing, teaching and healing in Bentong are pioneers and a great inspiration to me and many others. They bring blessings and love to so many. It is nice to see one department share, help and love another department. Our Bentong Departments are reaching out to more citizens in Bentong and these cookies are a nice way to show our appreciation for their support. You can find out more about our Bigfoot store by clicking here.

Background Information:

Bigfoot or Yeren in Chinese is a half man and half primate sort of animal that roams and lives in the vast forested areas of the USA (Pacific Northwest, Alaska, Northern states and some Southern states as well), Canada, Nepal, Tibet, Siberia, Russia, Australia, China, Vietnam, Bhutan and they are even known as Orang Pendek in Indonesia. Except for those found in Indonesia, they are all between 6 to 9 feet in height. They are very powerfully built and extremely hairy except for their faces. They are seen frequently in Tibetan society and there are many reports of them. I have met Tibetans who have seen these bigfoot. In Tibetan you called them Migyur. They are said to steal yaks, are very strong and very fast and have a lot of stealth as well. The Tibetans describe them in the scriptures and there are certain Tibetan lamas who communicate with them and they carry letters and messages from one lama to another. Somewhat like homing pigeons that have been used for hundreds of years. They are considered animals and are highly intelligent but not to the level of a human being. The Bhutanese, Nepalese and various people living in the Himalayas have a rich folklore surrounding these creatures and there are many eyewitness accounts across the centuries that talk about bigfoot. The natives of many regions around the world have accepted bigfoot as a creature of the forests. After all, it is an animal.

In the USA, for hundreds of years the beautiful and rich Native American people record Bigfoot in their oral histories, folklore, art and paintings in caves. They have many names for them and one of the more famous names is Sasquatch. When I was very young I saw two movies called Mysterious Monsters and The Legend of Boggy Creek and they were documentaries that date back to the 70s and are about bigfoot. I was instantly interested in them from that time untill now. It is a personal hobby of mine to study them. There are many bigfoot clubs, organisations, websites and conventions in the USA held every year.

I had this painted up so more people will know about bigfoot in Bentong which is near Kechara Forest Retreat.  And a Bigfoot statue on the right wearing a hat!

On October 20, 1967 Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin travelled into the deep woods of Northern California on horseback. They travelled along Bluff Creek, which is a tributary of the Klamath River in Humboldt County. They came across a Bigfoot walking away from them at a rapid pace. Fortunately, they were able to capture it on film as their horses reared in fear. It was then that Patterson ran on foot and caught some incredible footage of bigfoot who is known to extremely elusive. The film footage is 23.85 feet long, has 954 frames and runs for 59.5 seconds at 16 frames per second. This footage shows a female bigfoot walking away quickly with big strides and you can see very clearly the muscles in her legs and how she turns and her chest. This footage exploded onto the world stage and caught the imagination of millions and it led many to be interested in this creature. When I showed my Tibetan friends the footage, they said that it is very close to what they personally witnessed. And they said this without blinking an eye. Many people including experts and scientists since then have either tried to authenticate or debunk the footage. Many primatologists feel it is not a hoax. Since then this bigfoot has been famously dubbed ‘Patty’ and her ‘pose’ caught while she was walking has become the iconic bigfoot ‘pose’ recognizable all over the world. So this footage is called the Patterson-Gimlin footage or simply Patty. You can see art work, sculptures, posters, paintings and stickers of all sorts in the form of Patty.

On my blog, I have a category dedicated to bigfoot and it currently has 52 articles, documentaries, studies and eye witness accounts of bigfoot from around the world. You can see the category here.

Kechara has opened Bigfoot Universe Sdn Bhd, a second hand store near Kechara Forest Retreat in Bentong, Malaysia. Since bigfoot has been my hobby, I had asked some of my Kecharians to please have a weekly Bigfoot Flea Market at the Bentong stalls selling pre-loved items at a very affordable price to raise funds for some our Dharma activities. Now this weekly Bigfoot Flea Market has blossomed into a Bigfoot store with our own shop lot building. We have many wonderful and loyal customers. To celebrate their support, our Tsem Ladrang team baked Bigfoot cookies for them. We do not have many bigfoot items on sale yet, but many other pre-love items such as clothes, kitchenware, toys, figurines, puzzles, artwork and you name it, we got it. I had acquired bigfoot cookie cutters and we made bigfoot cookies. The bigfoot cookies celebrate the hard work of our Kechara members in general and in Bentong who tirelessly bring Dharma, love, blessings and care to everyone they come across. We appreciate the loyal clients in Bentong. Celebrating all the mystery, fun and research of Bigfoot and my passion in this cryptid animal.

I am always humbled by our Kechara members who give time, commitment, hard work and dedication towards bringing Buddha’s holy teachings in so many skilful ways.

With deep appreciation,
Tsem Rinpoche

Curious about the legendary Yeti? Not sure what to believe? Here is an article that explores a range of sources, from folktales to newspaper reports, detailing sightings and encounters with the elusive creature, who has been a part of the very fabric of various Himalayan communities for thousands of years. Read about religious beliefs, myths, fables and stories by scholars and travellers alike, and realise that there is more to the Yeti than you previously thought.

This meme is powerful. Who you hang around with and the types of attitude they have is who you will be influenced by many times and who you will become in the future. Look at your friends and the people that always surround you to know who you will become.

The more I know about Bigfoot the more I feel they are the original inhabitants of this planet along with reptilians like those in the old TV series ‘V’. I watch lots of Ancient Aliens series about aliens, and their theory about humans, looking at how the planet at one point were neanderthals, and in a span of 10,000 years the humans had intelligence of modern day humans, and also the type of plants cultivated by humans, there was no way it could have happened via natural evolution. They attributed that Lucy (from the movie Lucy) ‘leap’ due to advanced genetic engineering. That humans are a slave race to their alien masters, at some point in human history, they found ways to overcome their alien masters.

Enough about aliens, yeah there are so many credible witnesses, of Bigfoot / Yeti all over the US and countries in the Himalayas and some of these witnesses are unformed personnel who are taught to observe. Bigfoot in Malaysia is called Orang Mawas, this is an article back in 2006, some people trekked through Kota Tinggi to try and locate Orang Mawas. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/the-unknown-world-how-i-tracked-bigfoot-through-the-malaysian-jungle-5335503.html

So Bigfoot could be closer than we think!

That’s a great idea and they look delicious! They should be put for sale to raise funds! It’s a great way to attract people to the store and indirectly to the dharma. At least before someone gets initiated into Buddhism or any spiritual practice, there must be a way to interest them or draw them by non-spiritual means.

  15. Jason on Sep 28, 2017 at 2:11 am

Is great to know that a new Big Foot store is ready to serve local community. Big Foot Store had many items from A to Z for visitors to bring home. Besides that, many Tibetan rituals stuff also available in this store.
I’m so surprised that Big Foot cookies also available. The cookies in Big Foot shape and look yummy. I must try it in future visit.
I wish Big Foot store will sustain and bring more people close to Dharma. I really appreciate Rinpoche and many Kecharian for the contributions in order to make all these happened.

    Rejoice!
This is wonderful to see the team, who has followed Rinpoche’s advice very well to work out and organized the weekly Bigfoot Flea Market in Bentong, Pahang. Now, it has blossomed into a Bigfoot store at its own shop lot building. Furthermore, its Facebook has been created and updated the latest posts at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bigfoot%E3%81%AEstorage-%E9%87%8E%E4%BA%BA%E3%81%AE%E5%82%A8%E5%AD%98%E5%B1%8B/129014147685241?ref=br_rs

This is one of the creative ideas and skillful means from Rinpoche in spreading the dharma to many others. Now, another interesting and it was my first time to see these Bigfoot cookies. These cookies are rewarded to the customers in return for their loyalty.

Having Bigfoot cookies for all people at the flea market is a wonderful idea and a way to attract more people to the flea market . From there they get to know more about Kechara Forest Retreat as well..I have been to flea market before i could see alot of interesting items on sales.
Big foot indeed has attracted more people closer to Dharma too .Most of the Bentong folks know about Bigfoot and Kechara related.
The Bigfoot cookies looks cute and i am sure it tastes yummy . The Tsem Ladrang staff did a wonderful job baking such a delicious cookies. I do hope can get to taste it in my next trip to Bentong.
Thank You Rinpoche for having the idea of setting the Bigfoot Flea Market and now have cookies too. Rinpoche will always use ways to bring Dharma close to everyone .

Thank you Rinpoche for inspiring the waking up of Bentong folk and visitors to Bentong with the creation of a Bigfoot store to draw Bentong folk and people from elsewhere to Dharma. Thank you Pastor Yek Yee and team for setting up the store. Bigfoot is new and exciting to the people of Bentong and the store is a novelty to them. Bigfoot being real -half man and half animal – and not merely mystical is something they can relate to.

What great ideas to draw people to Dharma! First a Bigfoot store with interesting preloved items for sale that people like -clothing, kitchenware and the like. Now Bigfoot cookies! The cookies will definitely appeal to all who who come back again and again to visit the store and pull or to the store !

The latest scientific analysis – through the study of Bigfoot’s dermal ridges and vocal tracts and the like – is showing up more and more concrete evidence that the scriptures are correct in saying that Bigfoot does exist. Wow! Won’t Bentong folk be absolutely thrilled when the day comes that they get to see an unmistaken real life Bigfoot captured on camera!

Rinpoche always has creative and interesting ideas in bringing dharma to people. In fact, Rinpoche is very creative with everything. ✨ No one would ever thought about bringing bigfoot to Bentong, or educate people about it, not to mention spreading dharma through it. Because of Rinpoche, Bentong now has another interesting spot to attract local and international tourists.❣️

Rinpoche went further to get the bigfoot mould for cookies to be made so those visiting the shop will be treated with freshly home-baked bigfoot cookies! Rinpoche shared earlier that Patterson-Gimlin bigfoot was named after Patterson as Patty. Patterson is a name for male, while Patty is for female (and a short form for Patricia). It was named after Patterson because he was the one who took the shot. Gimlin was holding a gun pointing at the bigfoot to cover Patterson in case of bigfoot attack.

Bigfoot was also found outside of Kentrul Thubten Lamsang’s (H.E. Tsem Rinpoche) cave and was said to be trained by Kentrul Thubten Lamsang to send messages to the villagers. Bigfoot is trainable and not always disruptive as they are known to be generally. Kentrul Thubten Lamsang capabilities in training Bigfoot shows his level of spiritual attainments in subduing these wild beast’s mind into obeying his instructions.

The next time when you travel to Bentong, do visit Kechara’s very own and unique Bigfoot shop and enjoy what we have prepared for you. Don’t forget to taste the yummy Bigfoot cookies too!?

    Dear Rinpoche

This is soooo cool! It is cute and unusual to have little Bigfoot cookie attraction in Bentong. Like much of Rinpoche’s blogpost, there is always additional info about Bigfoot. Its interesting to read about the Bigfoot info especially the Patterson-Gimlin footage or ‘Patty’.

Its cool that we have this footage and its just too bad that we don’t have even more convincing evidences of Bigfoot aside from footprints and eyewitness accounts. This leads me to think that Bigfoot must have some sort of psychic ability or more acute instincts that allow them to have stealth and evade humans for so long. It’s nice to see this interest/hobby of rinpoche take root as something beneficial, fun and interesting for people.

I have made my commitment to visit Kechara Forest Retreat (KFR) for homage to my Guru and center in every home trip from China which is about 3 ~4 months once. I found out that there is always new exciting thing coming up in every of my visit to KFR. In my last visit, I paid visit to under-construction Kechara House Bentong. In this visit, I visited the Manjushri Nagarakshasa, however, I did not manage to visit the Bigfoot second hand store but I will definitely visit it next time. Thank You to all the Kecharians working so hard to assist Rinpoche to bring Dharma to people. When I was in KFR last weekend, I managed to talk to a few visitors (both first time and return visitors) to KFR, they are from all over Malaysia such as Penang, Kuala Lumpur, locals from Bentong etc. Most of them do not know much about Kechara or even Dharma, they visited Kechara Forest Retreat is mainly due to compassion of Rinpoche and Kecharians to bring them one step closer to Dharma.

I think my daughter could be the first one who tried the Bigfoot cookies, she seldom take this type of cookies but she one shoot finished eating a couples of them, it showed how delicious of these Bigfoot biscuits. I managed to steal a bite from her and it was very delicious and the shape is so cute and attractive. Thank You to Victor, Chris Chong and Sofi.
    ??
I heard that Bigfoot is primate creature who even help to pass message between High Lamas to spread Dharma. I sincerely pray that they will remain unharmed and continue to help the High Lamas who doing retreat in forest.

Thank You with folded hands to Rinpoche and All Kecharians for working so hard to benefit all sentient beings. I wish I could be part of the team in future.

It is a fantastic idea to have Bigfoot cookies in the Bigfoot Store in Bentong. Many stuff and peripherals can also be made with Bigfoot image to attract international tourists and the locals. Bentong is fast becoming a must visit destination which Bigfoot Store could capitalise on.

This is an exciting development for the town of Bentong. It is already fast becoming an attraction to take pictures with the BigFoot mural and a must visit for tourists. These delicious BigFoot cookies will be another attraction for kids and adults alike. Interests in BigFoot are very much alive in many countries but had been illusive to the cameras, so it is incredible that Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin was able to capture such a clear picture of “Patty” the female BigFoot. She was clearly aware of both men as she looked directly at them whilst walking away. What an amazing evidential proof of BigFoot’s existence.

Thank you Rinpoche for always thinking of ways to improve people’s lives, to bring them closer to the Dharma which provides the salvation to many of our problems. May more people continue to benefit from Rinpoche’s kindness, to be able to receive the Dharma to transform for the better and for those seeing the transformation to also wish for the better. Maybe one day BigFoot will grace Kechara with a visit. ?

Thanks to Rinpoche’s brilliant idea, Bentong now would have another attraction: The unique Bigfoot cookies!

I have not really go in depth with all the paranormal phenomena before I met Rinpoche. Due to Rinpoche’s persistency in introducing these paranormals (such as bigfoot, aliens, ancient mysteries, etc) to me, I started to question a lot of things, and become more open to spiritual. Believe it or not, these paranormal phenomena actually made me look into spiritual. With the bigfoot cookies being available in Bentong, I pray that bigfoot can become mainstream in this part of the world, and more and more people will get the blessing of Kechara and Rinpoche. ??

n their theoretical model, rudeness has this impact on our ability to think because it engenders negative sadness, anger. Researchers have found that common negative behaviours can spread easily and have significant consequences. The best way to avoid rude people is to meet their acts of rudeness with kindness. Exposure to neurotoxins in society is not new. Children today are raised in an environment that is much different from those days. Nowadays they are exposed to behaviours, profane language, hostilities and stress from which we adults, raised a generation ago. Studies have shown that children exposed to serious psychological trauma during childhood are at risk of suffering increased psychiatric disorders. Interesting read.

Revisit this blog again . Reading comments in this blog Rich people have substantial assets and income, providing a sense of security and freedom from financial worries. Owning high-end cars, designer clothing and everything they want with their money. Rich people often have more time for leisure, hobbies, and travel, allowing them to pursue interests and experiences. They may live in large, luxurious homes and have or apartments, often in desirable locations and having personalized services. The fundamental difference in mindset between the rich and the poor is, the rich have understood a very simple principle money makes money. Rich people see money as an opportunity, while poor people see it as something to be earned. Poor people work hard for their money. It is the heart that makes a man rich. He is rich according to what he is, not according to what he has. Not he who has much is rich, but he who gives much. The primary difference between rich people and poor people is how they handle their wealth. My thought been rich in this world it is not what we take up, but what we give up, that makes us rich.

Found this old post …disturbing. Having a name especially a Bar linked to Buddha to be disrespectful towards Buddhism. After much controversy the owner had it removed. The Buddha Bar located in Sabah by a young owner which opened without much thought had many people complaining. Later was forced to have its controversial name changed to ‘Peacock Garden’ and had apologised for the controversial name. As a devout Buddhist, the name ‘Buddha Bar’ which serves alcohol, is disrespectful to the revered Buddha.

Siberia, considered the heartland of shamanism inhabited by many different ethnic groups, and many of its peoples observe shamanistic. Many of the indigenous communities reclaiming their traditional spiritual and healing practices . Interesting. Siberian shamanism is often called Tengerism, involves various rituals, including drumming, chanting, trance states, and offerings to nature spirits and ancestors. This religious practice has deep roots in Siberia and Central Asia in recent years with roots in the Turkic and Mongolic cultures. Many who have been live in a remote part of Russia, have preserved their shamanic traditions due to their isolation. Many customs of Tengrism are still been practiced where they emphasizes a deep respect for nature and its various spirits, including those of the earth, water, and mountains. They do believe in the continued existence of souls and the importance of honouring their ancestors.
Thank you Rinpoche sharing this ancient religion.

Everyone of us has an unforgettable different experience, a different destination and itineraries. The journey to Shar Gaden Monastery back in 2019, making offerings to the sangha , by the Kecharians hold special moments and memories. They were on behalf of His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche and Kechara in making an offering to all 650 monks of the monastery. On this fruitful trip the Kecharians had the honour to catch a glimpse of the normally-covered holy statue of Dorje Shugden . Awesome this holy statue of Dorje Shugden was handmade by HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. The team was also granted an audience with H E Domo Geshe Chocktrul Rinpoche. Having the opportunity to make offerings to the monks was indeed meritorious. Rejoice to them. Looking at those beautiful pictures paints a thousands words. Thank you Rinpoche and team for this sharing. Merely looking at it is a blessing especially the Holy Statue of Dorje Shugden.

Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly. We can’t let our failures define us. Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure. Success is never permanent, and failure is never final. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness .Sometimes just reminding ourselves of the temporality of failure enables us to forge ahead and stay focus looking forward . Failure isn’t something many of us can handle gracefully. And even though we know it’s a common human condition, figuring out how to stay motivated in the face of failure .

Working in a private hospital before ,having witnessed many personal tragedies faced by the living and dying patients. Many of these poor people faced their death with fear, with misery and pain before departing this world. With the images of all these in my mind, on occasion feeling sad and grieve at times when those we have cared .But nonetheless we should recognise certain truths. All of us are going to leave this world at one time and leaving those we love. In the teaching of the Buddha, all of us will pass away eventually as a part in the natural process of birth, old-age and death and that we should always keep in mind the impermanence of life. Along the journey of life, we are reminded of our own inevitable ends in waiting and everything is a blip of transience and impermanent. Be responsible, good and positive for ourselves and towards others. This leads to calmness, happiness and an outlook which contributes to a calm and controlled mind at the time of death. We have to remind ourselves the importance of rebirth and taking time to prepare for their own demise before its too late.To cultivate the good karma, our good actions are an excellent way prepare for our death. Having lead a responsible and compassionate life and have no regrets when death approaches enables us to surrender without a struggle. The life that we all cherish and wish to hold on. We are doomed to the endless cycles of life and death, we should learn and practices Dharma teachings .We are given a chance in life and choice to determine our future, to determine where we will go for rebirth. Spend our time on earth wisely before its too late.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is considered the incarnation of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara and therefore he is an enlightened being. H H Dalai Lama has strongly discouraged the practice of Dorje Shugden worship within Tibetan Buddhism. Dorje Shugden is a prominent deity in the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism. Many highly attained Lamas have been relying on this Powerful Protector for centuries and even Dalai lama previously do propitiate Dorje Shugden . It cannot be wrong and its wrong to view it as a form of “spirit worship”. All his previous 9 reincarnations practiced with devotion, all of the Dalai Lamas teachers practiced Dorje Shugdan as well . The Tibetan community is torn over this issue and this has been the cause of much suffering and unnecessary prejudice. Dalai Lama is without doubt an enlightened being that surely cannot be tricked by a spirit. Dalai Lama did composed a praise to Dorje Shugden while at Dungkar Monastery . Interesting article , may more people read this and to understand better regarding this controversy. In 2020, the Dalai Lama made a Uturn by saying we can practice Dorje Shugden . Thats’ wonderful and relief for many practitioners.

Butön Rinchen Drup, 11th Abbot of Shalu Monastery, was a 14th-century Sakya master and Tibetan Buddhist leader. Butön Rinchen Drup a Tibetan great scholar and translator, known for systematizing the Tibetan Buddhist canon containing the Indian scriptures based on the spoken words of the Buddha. He also compiled the Tangyur collection that contains the Indian and Tibetan commentaries of these teachings. He wrote a famous text, the History of Buddhism in India and Tibet, which many Tibetan scholars utilize in their study till today. He remains to this day as one of the most important Tibetan historians and Buddhist writers in the history of Buddhism and Tibet. He was not merely a capable administrator but he is remembered to this very day as a prodigious scholar and writer and is Tibet’s most celebrated historian. After his death he strongly influenced the development of esoteric studies and psychic training in Tibet for centuries. Interesting biography of a great scholar.

nspiring a Tibetan Parliament representing the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, spoke bravely for the need to stop discriminating against Dorje Shugden practitioners. Tenpa Yarphel, a Tibetan MP speaking confidently for the sake of Tibetan unity. Tibetans in exile have also been particularly divided over the issue of the two Karmapas and the very damaging Dorje Shugden conflict. For someone who dare to speak for the sake of peace with the intention of moving forward to a better future. Tenpa Yarphel spoke up against the continuing discrimination of people based on their beliefs. For over more than 20 years those Tibetans especially those Dorje Shugden practitioners suffered from the lack of employment opportunities to discrimination. A wise decision of Tenpa Yarphel speaking up the truth of the Tibetan sufferings. They are not allowed in Tibetan hospitals, or apply jobs in the Tibetan civil service or even entering shop or hotels and so on. Tenpa Yarphel’s statement, paints a thousand words of reality. A big hand applaud to this brave man .

Losar is the Tibetan New Year, a festival that marks the beginning of the year on the Tibetan calendar. It is celebrated among the Tibetan community all over the world recently. Losar marks the beginning of the Tibetan calendar year a time for family gatherings, religious ceremonies, and feasting because of its long history and rich cultural traditions. The celebrations will last for 15 days whereby the first three days being the most important day for them and widely celebrated festival on the Tibetan calendar. During theTibetan New Year, Panglung Oracles are known to enter a trance state, of the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. This practice is considered a significant part of the Losar celebrations within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, providing guidance and blessings to those seeking their wisdom. People often consult the Panglung oracles to receive predictions, advice, and blessings for the coming year. Dorje Shugden will also give teachings while in trance of an oracle.
Reading this old blog again where back in 2022, the Great Protector Dorje Shugden gave an inportant message to everyone of us. We should take it seriously practising good virtues, such as prostrating ,making offerings and practise the holy Dharma. Everyone should always be kind-hearted and doing our best to cultivate loving-kindness, compassion and bodhicitta.

Pemayangtse Monastery is a Buddhist monastery in Sikkim, India that is part of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. It is one of the oldest and most famous monasteries in Sikkim. It is home to Dorje Shugden, a spirit in Tibetan tradition. The monastery is one of the oldest and most famous in Sikkim. Pemayangtse Monastery in Sikkim, founded by Lhatsun Namkha Jigme of the Nyingma tradition. One of the earliest modern academic references to Dorje Shugden. Stunning sculptures, paintings and ancient scrolls can be found in the Monastery. Interesting story behind this monastery,as described by Lieutenant Colonel Laurence Austine Waddell a British explorer, collector and author. Through the years of travelling in India, Sikkim and areas on the borders of Nepal and Tibet, after doing research on Tibetan Buddhist religious practices he made a stunning discovery. He discovered that Dorje Shugden existence in the Nyingma monastery as written in his book, which confirmed that Dorje Shugden been worshipped in the Nyingma as well . Not only worshipped in the Gelug lineage but held prominence in the Nyingma tradition too. Interesting read.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
